Chimney Caps

Chimney caps come in different size, shape, style, material, and mounting methods. Here are some of the more popular ones available. The main functions of a chimney cap are:

  • Rain Guard
  • Animal Guard
  • Spark Arrestor

All chimney caps we sell and install are guaranteed never to rust or fall off for the life of the home.

Bolt On Caps

Usually square or rectangle in shape and are the most basic style of cap available. Yet they provide most of the benefits one would expect from a chimney cap.

Made from painted steel (not offered by Certified), stainless steel, or copper.

They attach to the terra-cotta flue tile protruding out from the top of the chimney with bolts. Most bolt on caps only cover 1 flue and offer little protection to the cement crown below.

All Bolt On caps purchased and installed by Certified are guaranteed never to rust or fall off.

Round Caps

For use with round flue liners. They cover only 1 flue and offer little to no protection to the cement crown.

Made from stainless steel and come in many diameters they mount by slipping into the flue or by tightening a large hose clamp the goes around the round flue.

The picture on the right shows the style included with most stainless steel flue liners we in install. They are designed to allow maximum draft or air flow.

Other styles of round or custom caps available upon request.

All Round caps purchased and installed by Certified are guaranteed never to rust or fall off.

Crown Mount

Two-piece caps with a removable lid for easy maintenance.

Available in square, rectangle, pitched lid, and decorative options.

They mount securely to the cement crown with masonry screws or anchors or set directly into the crown itself.

Made from stainless steel, copper, or powder-coated steel.

They cover multiple flues and cover the crown, extending the overall lifespan of the chimney structure.

All Crown Mount caps purchased and installed by Certified are guaranteed never to rust or fall off.

Side Mount

Similar to the crown mount caps, they add a “skirt” that wraps around the top of the chimney where the brick meets the crown.

They are fully customizable covering as much or as little of the brick and crown as desired. All styles of crown mount can have the skirt needed to mount to the side of the chimney.

They offer additional protection to the chimney, by covering the top edge of the chimney it provides the ultimate protection possible. It also opens the door to the most extravagant caps and shrouds available.

About Smoktite

Improve the operation of your fireplace and increase the safety of your home!

Smoktite is a highly insulative ceramic product that is used to seal, smooth, and insulate fireplace smoke chambers without removing the damper frame or adjacent brickwork that would be needed if done by hand.

Smoktite is applied with a hi-powered air compressor to seal the interior of the fireplace smoke chamber with a durable ceramic coating that is good up to 2291 degrees Fahrenheit and is impervious to moisture, acids, smoke, or vapors.

Sufficient training is required to apply the product. It must be mixed exactly to manufacturers specifications and the applicating equipment is extremely difficult to operate correctly and must be thoroughly cleaned immediately following each use. The ceramic solution will dry even fully submerged under water to an incredibly hard cement.

All Smoktite applications performed by Certified Chimney carry a lifetime guarantee on labor and material.
